On the notion of ownership

French people more attached to use than to ownership?
We regularly put on the front page this survey which confirms for a few years now that 83% of the French consider more important to use than to own. It seems to introduce a major evolution of the definition of ownership. We invite you to reread one of our publications on this subject here.
In the#automotive sector, the preference for#use is understood. It is developing considerably in the #motorcycle sector. The #bike isnot left behind and let's not forget to talk about #tech. Other fields, even more surprising, are emerging. This is the case of#clothing or more generally all the #retail professions.
Ownership: a constantly evolving terminology
This notion is not as fixed as it seems. It calls for other essential reflections on freedom and use. These themes evolve in time but also in space, places or cultures, customs and law.
The television series entitled"Le Monde et sa propriété" (The World and its Property), currently broadcast on Arte , and in particular its first episode, lays the foundations for the first reflections of several thinkers, historians, philosophers, economists, jurists and researchers. This first episode shows that the importance of use over property is not necessarily so recent and that the opposition between one and the other is not so clear-cut. A nice analysis that we enjoyed following and that we invite you to watch here.
Thus, the word property does not have the same meaning whether one is French, English, kokubos, today or two hundred years ago.
One question remains! What IT solution do you have to offer the best #financing of usage to your customers? Does this solution meet the legitimate expectations of the consumer or does it only dress up in its most beautiful finery to ultimately deprive him of his property without offering him a real and complete use at a lower cost.
Surprisingly high rents
Our approach as a publisher is not limited to offering a SaaS solution for managing leasing contracts. It also consists of continuous improvement through daily monitoring of technologies and customer expectations. The #financing of#usage consists in making the customer bear only the cost of his real use of the chosen good.
It is clear that some offers present rents surprisingly higher than the global cost of full ownership without providing real complementary services. Fortunately, they are not the majority, but the temptation to propose so-called "rental contracts" established in an empirical way, without taking into account the final economic value of the property, is easy and dangerous for those who succumb to it. It risks to see the customer turning away, who will end up comparing the proposals that he can obtain elsewhere, and even discredit the sign that resorts to such operations. In other words, renting is good, but not at any price.
Understand the economic depreciation of the property to be rented
So how do we go about proposing a fair rent? It is important to define the economic depreciation of the property. That is to say to evaluate the value that the good will have after #usage. For#automobiles , the approach is well known. It integrates the notions of #duration and #kilometreage according to each good.
For other goods, we will have to retain the notions of #duration and recharge cycle or duration and rotation cycle, flight or hours of use. This is a rigorous task, but it is essential to evaluate the fair price of financing for the use of an asset. It is still necessary to have the information system that will allow to integrate it and to follow it in time.
